Christmas in July
So following the theme of Christmas in July I thought I would share with you some Christmas quilts that I have made and adorn out house come Christmas time. All but one are here as I lent one to my sister and it never made its way back home! Oh well its gone to a good home so I shouldn't be complaining!
These quilts are all small so I hang them in the kitchen or hallway or wherever there is room.
These quilts were my first attempt at stipple quilting. I learnt that there are no "rules" just practice first, wear some gloves and off you go! I also have some cloth "Santa" dolls but these are packed away in boxes and the shed is definately not my domain.

Birthday presents
Want a quick and easy birthday present to make? I made this lovely lanyard from two strips of fabric with the additional purchase of an "o" ring and a swivel clasp. I cut two strips of fabric each strips 1 1/2 wide by the width of the fabric you could of course cut from two different fabrics if you wish. I decided to add a layer of iron on pellon in the middle (just for extra comfort) and then topstitched for that lovely professional look.
So what do you think? I also made one for myself a little shorter than the "norm" and I love it!
You can make these long catering for the tall person or short catering for people like me.

Sea theme quilt
This was my daughters very first quilt made some years ago now. Searched all my local quilting shops for fabrics anything to do with dolphins, whales, dugongs etc and this was the end result. No pattern used here just simple squares and it was professionally quilted in a large stipple design.

Rag quilt using layer cakes
I wanted to share this lovely quilt I made some time back. Made from one layer cake - Simplicity by Moda. This layer cake contained a total of 40 blocks just perfect because I used 20 for the front and 20 for the back with a layer of white flannel in the middle.
This quilt was quick and easy to make and with a huge variety of layer cakes available why not make one yourself.
